I've promised some blog readers that I would share more of my little guy while on maternity leave...so, here goes!
Elijah at two days old -
And now at six weeks (wow, time is flying!) -
I love doing detail shots of newborns!
Elijah and my dad share the same birthday, so I wanted to create a "connection" portrait for them...
More to come!
Blue Candy Photography was featured in the November issue of Indianapolis Monthly! We were named as one of their "favorite things" - yay! A small version of the photo below was also featured. Thanks to our amazing clients who happen to be Blue Candy's "favorites"!
...that I would be too tired to photograph my own newborn properly - and they were right! Thank goodness for two of my (extremely talented!!) photographer friends Laura and Britt, who flew in for a visit. I am absolutely over the moon with the photos we got. Here are just a few...
These are some of what Britt did - I adore them! I'll also add some of Laura's in another post. We had so much fun - it was great to be on the other side of the photography process for a change! :)
and very sleepy!
Stacy and baby Elijah Cade are home from the hospital! After a surprise induction Friday, baby Elijah was born at a healthy 7 lbs, 5 oz on Saturday. They are both feeling well...just tired out! Thank you for all of the kind messages and well wishes! Stacy promises to respond to any calls and e-mails as soon as she can - thank you for your patience in the meantime!
More photos to follow soon! :)

Coordinating chickens, roosters, a pony, a horse, AND a 3 yo and 8 mo was tricky! It was definitely different from my normal sessions, but such a fun (and dirty) challenge. I'm sure that the mom and grandma had a chuckle when I showed up in a white skirt and flip flops to a farm. The problem is, I only have a handful of maternity outfits that still fit and are comfortable enough to shoot in, so that is what they got!
Chickens are especially difficult to shoot! Nearly every shot has at least one of their umm, non-flattering sides facing me or a head blocked by another chicken. I think this one was one of the few with all body parts accounted for - haha.
My favorite...I adore this one!!!
Blue Candy's work is soon to be published! Stacy has been working with some notable authors and will have work featured in several soon-to-be-released photography books (fall 07 and spring 08). She will let everyone know when they are available! And if you are a Blue Candy client, we may be contacting you if your child's image is chosen for publication. Thank you for sharing in our excitement!!!
